Have you received floral bouquets in the past? If so, did you dispose of it after it had lost its fragrant smell? You must have been clueless about how you can make them last longer. If you want to retain your favourite blooms, you should know the process called drying flowers!

Here are some ways you can do it:

1. Get your materials

Of course, aside from flowers, you must have the following:

  • String
  • Scissors
  • A stick or hanger

2. Remove them from their cover

From a flower in jars to a hot air balloon flower in Singapore, you can get them from various flower shops today. In drying flowers, you would not need their decorations. So, remove them from their packaging first.

3. Pluck the leaves

Next, you would want to remove any extra foliage from the flower stems. Some people like keeping some of them attached because they like the look of greenery. You can do it, too!

4. Group them together

If you have observed from the pictures of a dried flowers bouquet on an online store, they are not as abundant as an ordinary bouquet. It is because some flowers found in bouquets do not belong in the group of best flowers to dry. You can take a look at the list of the best ones to know which flowers you want to group!

5. Tie them to a stick

After grouping them, tie them together and tie them to a stick. They should be upside down, so ensure that the stick is sturdy and can handle the weight of your flowers!

6. Leave for three to four weeks

Let them hang like that for three to four weeks. It would be enough time to get them completely dry to add as an art decoration in your space!

If you want to try this project, you should start by getting a bouquet from Petite Fleur! You can also buy flowers in a jar in Singapore from them.
